New Learning Technologies to Try out with the Info-Tour "Erfahrbares Lernen" (Experiential Learning)

| 30.10.2018

BMBF-funded TZI event invites representatives from schools, science, industry and politics to Bremen's Überseestadt on 6 November 2018.

Digitisation opens up many new possibilities for the transfer of
knowledge. Information can be presented and animated in many different
ways to make learning more diverse. At the same time, learners can
experience complex concepts with different senses, for example when
they solve a mathematical task by gesture control or by combining
electronic elements. New approaches like these for learning will be
presented by the "Erfahrbares Lernen" information tour of the Federal
Ministry of Education and Research on 6 November as part of two events
in Bremen (both at the Hudson Event Loft, Konsul-Smidt-Straße 8D,
28217 Bremen). Host is the Technology Centre for Computer Science and
Information Technology (TZI) of the University of Bremen with the
project "Multimodal Algebra Learning" (MAL).

The afternoon programme titled "Digitisation in Education" is
primarily aimed at representatives from education and science, while
the evening programme - in cooperation with the i2b innovation network
- also addresses business and politics.

From 1 p.m. to 5.30 p.m., the participating institutions will present
their demonstrators to various school groups and the interested
public. From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., the programme will feature the
presentation of the projects and a discussion on the topic of
"Effectiveness of digital media in schools".

The evening event will be held from 7 pm to 10 pm and is titled "New
Technologies for Training and Learning - How Mixed Reality Makes
Knowledge Tangible". After a keynote by Prof. Dr. Rainer Malaka
(University of Bremen), representatives from industry and science will
discuss the opportunities of new learning technologies for society
with the Senator for Science, Health and Consumer Protection,
Prof. Dr. Eva Quante-Brandt. The demonstrators will also be on display
in the evening.
