Harvesting Question Answering (QA) by Human Computation (HC)

Understanding natural language is still a challenging field for artificial systems. Answering questions given in a natural language or finding relevant search results to these questions are problems tackled by different researchers. Their approaches range from statistic analysis based on term occurrences to natural language processing and knowledge or logic-based techniques that use formal ontologies. The human computation online game Webpardy enables users to contribute to the creation of a corpus of question-resource pairs for harvesting web-based question answering. Our idea was motivated by the popular ‘jeopardy’ quiz.
